Extra police patrols are being carried out in Mansfield as part of a county-wide crackdown on knife crime.
Nottinghamshire Police says Home Office funding is paying for targeted patrols in hotspot areas, including Ravensdale.
The force says the work has already led to arrests, weapon seizures and stop-and-searches elsewhere in the county.
Chief Inspector Kylie Davies, Nottinghamshire Police's knife crime lead who also oversees policing in the city centre, said: "We know knife crime often goes hand-in-hand with drug-related crime, violent disorder and other criminality and can have a devastating impact on victims, families and communities.
"We have a number of different initiatives in place, working closely with our partners, to prevent and reduce knife crime across the city and county.
"This ongoing work has only been strengthened through this Knife Crime Concentration Fund allocation which has enabled us to increase our high-visibility foot patrols in identified crime hotspot areas, helping us to protect members of the public from harm.
“This extra funding also gives us the opportunity to focus our resources in areas where knife crime is having a direct impact on people's quality of life, playing a vital role in deterring and reducing crime, while providing residents with a strong, visible presence in their communities."
