Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue declared a major incident yesterday after a series of call-outs put significant pressure on its resources.
Crews tackled fires at Sherwood Pines and Strawberry Hill Heath near Rainworth.
The service warned response times to other incidents could be delayed and urged people not to light barbecues or campfires during the dry conditions.
