Officers investigating a serious assault in Mansfield town centre have appealed for additional witnesses to come forward.
The victim, a man in is 50s, suffered a broken jaw and fractured eye socked during the reported assault in Mansfield Market Place.
It is believed that the incident happened between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on the evening of Monday 13 July.
Officers are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry and are now appealing for additional witnesses to come forward.
PC Liam King said: "The victim in this case suffered some serious facial injuries and we are determined to get justice for him.
"To this end we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard a coming together between two men in the Market Place at this time.
"Even the smallest bit of evidence could make all the difference to our investigation."
