Speaking to Mansfield 103.2's Tony Delahunty, Executive Mayor Andy Abrahams has said the local illuminations are being looked at as an area where savings could be made in the future.
Following a recent public survey those that took part told the the cash strapped authority that 'events' were something they would be happy to see go if money needed to be saved.
Events like the Big Switch On, which last year featured Tinchy Stryder, are now under threat.
