Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejects Donald Trump's Board of Peace plan for Gaza

Benjamin Netanyahu says he rejects a 15-point plan for Gaza by Donald Trump's Board of Peace.

Speaking at Sunday's weekly cabinet meeting, the Israeli prime minister also said his military will not make "any withdrawal" from the Palestinian territory until Hamas fully disarms.

Mr Netanyahu also warned that as long as he is PM there will be no Palestinian state in Gaza or the West Bank and Iran "will not have nuclear weapons".

"The existence of our precious country, the country of all of us, the existence of Israel, is non-negotiable," he said.

Explaining his stance on Hamas's proposed disarmament, he said: "I mean the heavy weapons, the less heavy weapons, all the weapons. And we are talking about real disarmament, not fictitious disarmament."

Mr Netanyahu pushed back on "talking to the Americans about this issue [Gaza]. They have ideas, some of which are acceptable to us and some of which are unacceptable to us, and we know how to stand up to these things.

"We have proven this in the past and we are proving it today."

Responding to the Israeli leader's comments, senior Hamas official Basem Naim said the group expects mediators and Washington to "press [Mr] Netanyahu and his government to adhere to the roadmap".

Last month, the US president, who has repeatedly said he wants to end the conflict, said there had been a breakthrough in his ​peace plan, which ⁠both Israel and Hamas agreed to in 2025 and that began with a ceasefire.

Mr Trump ⁠said Hamas, ​which ruled Gaza for ​nearly two decades before ​carrying out the 7 October 2023, attack on Israel that triggered the ⁠Gaza war, had ​agreed to lay down its weapons.

Mr Trump was applying "heavy pressure" on Mr Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza, sources close to the ceasefire negotiations told Sky News last month, beginning when the pair met at the White House.

Palestinian officials say around 1,200 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire agreement last October.

Describing itself on its website as a body that "seeks to promote stability, restore dependable and lawful governance, and secure enduring peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict", the board has 28 founding members.

It was set up by Mr Trump in in September 2025 and includes Sir Tony Blair on its executive board.

In a statement, Mr Trump said its aim is to "end decades of suffering, stop generations of hatred and bloodshed, and forge a beautiful, everlasting, and glorious peace".
