Carlos Alcaraz will make his comeback from a wrist injury at the US Open as he seeks to defend his title at Flushing Meadows.
The seven-time grand slam champion has not played on the ATP Tour since April, when he withdrew from the Barcelona Open with a wrist issue, with Alcaraz missing his defence of his French Open title and Wimbledon.
Alcaraz was due to return at the Cincinnati Open this month before withdrawing from that event, then enlisted the help of football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano to announce his US Open comeback.

Both posted the news on Instagram, while Alcaraz also shared Romano's 'here we go' catchphrase on X along with the United States flag.
Romano said on Instagram: "Here we go! Carlos Alcaraz will return to the tour at the US Open after spending four months sidelined with a right wrist injury. Ready to come back."
The Spaniard remains at No 2 in the world rankings despite his long injury lay-off, having beat Jannik Sinner in last year's US Open final before starting this season with Australian Open victory.
The 23-year-old also won the ATP 500 Qatar Open and reached the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters before his injury, with Alcaraz now ready to step back on court at Flushing Meadows later this month.
Alcaraz will be chasing his third US Open title, live on Sky Sports from August 30, having won his first grand slam title there in 2022 to reach world No 1 before lifting the trophy for a second time last September.
Sinner and Alcaraz both missed the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open, with no male since the beginning of the Masters format in 1990 winning the US Open without playing at least one of those two events.
The US Open has announced another bumper increase in prize money, with an overall purse of $108m (approximately £80m) the biggest in the sport's history and a 20 per cent rise for the second consecutive year.
