Bristol's Gallagher Prem play-off hopes were dealt a major blow after they suffered an 18-14 defeat against struggling Harlequins at the Principality Stadium.
Billed as the west country club's Big Day Out fixture, it fell flat on its face, with Quins ending a run of six successive Prem losses that had stretched back five months.
Tries from captain Alex Dombrandt and wing Rodrigo Isgro proved enough to keep Bristol at bay in front of a 45,000 crowd, while fly-half Jarrod Evans kicked a penalty and full-back Jamie Benson converted Isgro's score before landing a 79th-minute penalty.

Bristol were never at the races, despite an early Fitz Harding try and James Williams conversion, and they slipped seven points behind fourth-placed Exeter with just six regular season games remaining, claiming a losing bonus through Steven Luatua's late score that saw Williams again add the extras.
For their part, Quins closed the gap on Gloucester to one point and raised hopes of a possible top-eight finish that would mean Investec Champions Cup qualification for next season.
Saracens 17-21 Northampton Saints
Northampton conjured a late try for Archie McParland to clinch a dramatic 21-17 victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that further erodes Saracens' play-off hopes.
McParland crossed with three minutes left to reward late pressure from Saints, who move six points clear at the top of the table after digging deep in a tense and bad-tempered showdown in north London.
Fergus Burke had put Saracens in the driving seat with a 73rd-minute penalty and his team had shown grit to battle back from an early 14-0 deficit, but they lacked their opponents' firepower that swung the game in the closing stages.
South African giant JJ van der Mescht was held up over the line twice as Northampton searched for the crucial score and the title hopefuls also had to absorb the loss of fly-half Fin Smith to a failed HIA on the half hour mark.
But they had Smith's fellow England stars Henry Pollock and Tommy Freeman back in the saddle among six internationals returning from Six Nations duty and the extra class told when it mattered.
Gloucester 17-36 Leicester Tigers
Jamie Blamire scored two tries as Leicester convincingly beat Gloucester at Villa Park.
Gloucester made a miserable start on their first excursion to the Premier League football ground in Birmingham, conceding 22 points in the opening quarter and never looked liked to overhauling that deficit.
A record defeat in fixtures between the clubs looked on the cards but Gloucester regrouped to show spirit and Tigers became careless, though the game was a virtual non-event after that opening blitz.
The win kept Leicester in third place in the league table with their opponents stuck on just two Prem wins in 12 league outings.
In the process the Tigers retained the Slater Cup, with the fixture named in honour of former Gloucester and Leicester lock Ed Slater following his diagnosis with motor neurone disease in 2022.
Will Wand, Gabriel Hamer-Webb, Orlando Bailey and Harry Wells were also on Leicester's try-scoring sheet with Billy Searle adding two conversions and James O'Connor one.
Matias Alemanno, Will Joseph and Dian Bleuler scored Gloucester's tries, one of which Charlie Atkinson converted.
Parling 'protecting players' after TV outburst
Leicester boss Geoff Parling says he was protecting his players when he was involved in a heated exchange with TV presenters ahead of their match with Gloucester at Villa Park.
Footage showed TNT Sports' Craig Doyle inviting Liam MacDevitt to attempt a conversion, saying it was an initiation as a new member of the presenting team.
MacDevitt sent his kick from out on the touchline towards the posts in the direction of where Leicester players were warming up, prompting a furious response from Parling.
He marched over, pushing Doyle out of the way after the presenter asked: "Would you sign him Geoff?".
"It's f****** not on," Parling said.
Doyle apologised for the language, saying: "Geoff not happy about that."
Speaking after the game to BBC Radio Leicester, Parling said: "The producer from TNT has just come and apologised to me. They had something set up that wasn't passed with anybody, without our knowledge.
"I'm very wary I need to protect my players and certainly balls flying towards our players that could go anywhere where there's an injury risk, then I'm obviously not going to be happy."
TNT Sports declined to comment when contacted by the Press Association.
