Seven men arrested after man in his 20s stabbed to death in London street

Detectives launched a murder investigation and made seven arrests after a man was knifed to death.

Officers were called at 12.41am in the early hours of Wednesday morning by the London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing in a street in Southall, west London.

Police and paramedics found that two men had been injured.

One man, aged in his 20s, was found to have suffered a knife wound.

Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they are trying to track down his next-of-kin.

Seven men, aged from their early 20s to late 30s, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Six remain in police custody while the investigation continues.

The seventh man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital where he is currently being treated.

His condition is not believed to be life threatening, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby from the Met Police, who is leading the investigation, said: "My thoughts remain with the loved ones of the man who has died.

"We believe that the two men suffered wounds during an altercation outside a property on North Road.

"There is a large police cordon in place on North Road and surrounding streets. This is likely to remain while our enquiries continue, and I want to thank residents for their patience."

Scotland Yard also asked for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has CCTV footage of what occurred to get in touch.
