Man denies using threatening words towards Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

A man has denied using threatening words towards Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, near his Sandringham home.

Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleaded not guilty at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence to the former Duke of York on 6 May.

Andrew was walking his dogs when the incident is alleged to have occurred in Wolferton, close to his Marsh Farm property, shortly after 7.30pm on Wednesday.

Jenkinson, who gave his address as Debenham in Suffolk, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood while in custody on the same day.

He pleaded not guilty to a further charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence against a different man, Stephen Terry, in King's Lynn, on 5 May.

Jenkinson was granted conditional bail to not go near a number of sites linked to the royal family.

He is expected to stand trial at the same court on 29 July. Prosecutor Josephine Jones said it is intended for Andrew to give evidence via a videolink.

Marsh Farm

Andrew moved into Marsh Farm in Norfolk last month, after moving out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor in February.

The palace had announced last October that the King had begun the process of removing the style, title and honours of the former prince after the Jeffrey Epstein-linked allegations against him had started to "distract" from the Royal Family's work.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein and vehemently denied all allegations against him.

He had lived at Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion on the Windsor Estate, for more than 20 years.
