Seven men arrested after four were stabbed during fight in Bromley

Seven men have been arrested after four were injured, one critically, following a stabbing in a London high street.

Emergency services were called to reports of an altercation in Bromley High Street in southeast London, just after 2pm on Thursday.

One person is in a critical condition while three others are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "At around 2.15pm on Thursday, 10 September, officers were called to reports of an altercation."

"Seven men were arrested and they all remain in custody. Police enquiries continue and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the public."

The London Ambulance Service confirmed that four patients were treated at the scene and then taken to hospital.

A LAS spokesperson said: "We sent ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance."

A section of Bromley High Street was cordoned off, with an emergency vehicles nearby as forensic officers gathered evidence at the scene.

Peter Fortune, the MP for Bromley and Biggin Hill, said: "I am aware of the incident on Bromley High Street this afternoon and I know that residents will have safety concerns."

He added that he would remain in close contact with the police as they continue to investigate the incident.

Bromley Council described the incident as "absolutely appalling news" and thanked emergency services for their work "in the most difficult circumstances".

A section of the High Street was closed and traffic was slow around the area of the incident on Thursday afternoon and some bus routes were divereted, the AA said.
