Open Mic Karaoke Night
There’s a new open mic karaoke night starting this Friday, 24th January, at the Triple S Snooker club in Skegby. It will continue after that on every other Friday night. The fun starts at 8pm. So whether you are looking for a night of entertainment or if you want to have a go at being the entertainer then the Triple S is the place to be. Everyone welcome to go along.
Weekly Park Run / Walk
There is a free weekly 5km park run that happens every Saturday morning at the Manor Sports & Recreation Ground in Mansfield Woodhouse. The run is open to everyone and is free to join however you must register for your first run. You can find more information on the run / walk and details on how to registers at www.parkrun.org.uk/mansfield. It takes place every Saturday morning starting at 9am. You can run, jog, walk around or you can even push a pushchair round if you wish. You can also take your dog too as long as he/she is well behaved and kept on a short lead. Adults and children of all ages and abilities are welcome. Please note that children under 11 years of age must be accompanied by an adult who can keep up with them on the run/walk. Everyone welcome!
Mansfield Hospitals Theatre Troup Proudly Present “Peter Pan” The Pantomime
Yep, you read it right, its panto time!! For the 40th year running the Mansfield hospitals Theatre Troup are putting on their annual panto to raise funds for local good causes and charities. Last year alone they raised over £10,000. This year’s panto, Peter Pan, runs from Saturday 25th January through to Saturday 1st February and promises to be full of family fun and entertainment for all ages. Sutton Rambling Club – Why Not Join Them For A Walk??
On Sunday 26th January the Sutton Rambling Club will be walking in the High Peak area including Porter Clough in Derbyshire. It promises to be a great walk with fabulous scenery and great company, what more could you ask for?? As always there will be a coach available to take walkers to and from the walk, it picks up at The Staff of Life public house in Sutton in Ashfield at 9.15am followed by a pick up on Stockwell Gate in Mansfield at 9.30am. The Millside Hospital Radio based at Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton in Ashfield is currently looking for volunteers. The radio station broadcasts 24 hours per day across the wards of the hospital and they are also online. They provide a wide variety of entertainment for inpatients at the hospital. The station is run completely by volunteers and they are currently looking for new radio presenters and other station staff to work behind the scenes. Full training will be given. So, if you fancy getting into radio or helping out behind the scenes why not join this fantastic friendly team and give them a helping hand. Tapas & Talk
On Tuesday 4th February from 6pm – 8pm a new initiative is being launched by the team behind One Walk and One Conversation who have teamed up with the Capo Lounge in Mansfield. It’s called ‘Tapas & Talk’, the evening involves people coming together at the Capo Lounge with a lovely friendly bunch of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for a conversation plus food and drink if you wish. The group of friendly activists (as they are known) will be in the bar waiting to chat to you and your friends. They are from all kinds of backgrounds with all kinds of abilities and all they want with you is a conversation. All food and drinks have to be paid for on the night individually but everyone is welcome to go along and get talking! Please go along and show your support. The event will be repeated on the first Tuesday of each month going forward which means the next one after this will be on Tuesday 3rd March.
