Stags Youngsters Begin FA Youth Cup Journey Tomorrow
Mansfield Town’s under 18s side start there FA Youth Cup journey tomorrow, as John Dempsters young guns look for a repeat of last season’s success where they reached the third round but were beaten by Under 18 Premier League side Sunderland by five goals to one.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) Dempsters side travel to Bedworth United for a 7.30pm kick, to face a side who have already progressed through three qualifying rounds to reach this stage of the competition.
Dempster, who was part of the Stags side who took on Liverpool in the FA Cup third round in the 2012-13 seasons, will be eager to see his side progress and continue to improve after a spell of three consecutive defeats saw a phenomenal start to their Northeast Youth Alliance Season stutter.
The young Stags still remain top of the division following a 3-1 win over Lincoln City last Saturday which put an end to their run of three consecutive defeats.
Tomorrow night’s FA Youth match takes place at The Oval, Coventry Road, Bedworth, CV12 8NN with a 7.30pm kick-off. Those wishing to cheer on the young Stags, can gain entry to the ground for £3 (Adults) or £2 (Concessions) – entry for under 16s is free.
