Sports Direct Subject Of Surprise Inspection

The Shirebrook headquarters of Sports Direct, has been the subject of a surprise inspection by MPs today.

A spokesman from the company said members of the Business and Energy select committee arrived at the factory in Shirebrook earlier this morning (7th November).

The Sports Retailer, which has over 470 stores across the UK, including ones in Mansfield and  Shirebrook, have been heavily criticised for employment practises, including zero-hour contracts.

Founder and chief executive Mike Ashley wasn’t there as the inspection took place.
