New Wellness Hub Opens Its Doors In Bolsover
A new Wellness Hub to help older adults and those living with long term health conditions exercise more has been launched by Bolsover District Council.
Based at the Council’s Go! Active leisure facility the suite boasts 12 power-assisted exercise machines supplied by UK manufacturer, Shapemaster.
The power assisted exercise technology, provides a ‘helping hand’ to exercisers giving them a low impact, full-body circuit workout.
A key part to the new Hub is the social element where participants can come and exercise, have a chat and a cup of tea, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Bolsover District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure, Councillor David Downes said, “We already have a very successful Bolsover Wellness scheme, but we wanted to expand on this and provide a more comprehensive programme for our resident’s that provides them with opportunities to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle.
“So we are delighted to have opened up this new facility, specifically aimed at helping our older community and those with long term health conditions who find it difficult to move and exercise. It has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and we hope that by encouraging more people to attend we can improve the health of our local communities.”
The team have also considered the next steps for users and provide Pulse Fitness circuit line machines which offer a progression in exercise and fitness.
Various activities, sessions and memberships are available for the Wellness Hub which can be accessed via the Go! Active reception on 01246 242 365.
