New stalls for Mansfield Market

New stalls for Mansfield Market
Mexican bread, Caribbean dumplings and freshly made juices were just some of the new offerings in Mansfield at the weekend, as a number of traders spent their first day on the Marketplace. The stallholders had attended workshops on starting a market stall, as part of the council's revamp of the area. Joyce Chambers was one of the new traders, selling handmade jewellery, and she said “people still want that personal touch you can get from a market. We can sell more unique items, when a lot of shops are selling the same sorts of things”.
The workshops on starting a new stall were led by Keeley Flint, who had a clear idea on how she thought Mansfield's market could go to the next level. She said “if we could get coach trips coming in to town from a variety of areas, then the money those people would spend could benefit local shops and pubs, as well as the market itself”.
