Health Issues In Mansfield To Be Tackled
The Healthy Mansfield Commission will meet for the first time on Thursday 22 March at 4pm in the Civic Centre to start to tackle the local health and wellbeing issues affecting Mansfield residents.
Strategic leaders from around the area have been invited to join the commission chairman, former MDC councillor and business leader Les Marshall, for an intense six month programme of research. Invitations have been given to Mansfield and Ashfield CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group), Nottingham Trent University, Public Health England, Surestart, STP, Citizens Advice Bureau and Mansfield District Leisure Trust.
Les Marshall said “We’ll be researching, discussing and debating the key health and wellbeing challenges that Mansfield faces. We aim to provide a robust report that makes recommendations on how to improve and sustain a good quality of life for all”.
The first meeting will be to receive an overview of the current picture, setting terms of reference and actions to be delivered over the six month review period.
Minutes of the meeting will be available on the council’s website at www.mansfield.gov.uk/healthymansfield and the final report is due in September 2018.
