Derbyshire Groups Come Together To Ensure Safer Neighbourhoods
Derbyshire police are joining forces with cadets, special constables and council rangers over the next few months, to ensure that celebrations such as bonfire night and Christmas themed events go ahead safely and anti-social behaviour is cut out.
The Safer Neighbourhood team will bring resources together to ensure a lid is kept on anti-social behaviour during events and that towns can enjoy successful events.
Sargent Mark Church is the Safer Neighbourhoods Team sergeant for Shirebrook and said “it’s great to see because they’re people out there who work amongst the community & give up their spare, valuable, time to contribute and to make the place better so a massive thanks to those – I’m looking forward to a partnership approach to making it safe for everybody in Shirebrook and surrounding towns”
“In this day and age all agencies are hit by austerity so it’s a case of thinking a little bit outside the box. We need to work together to have a collaborative approach – two heads can be better than one and three better than two, so let’s pull resources together to get the best result of making the place safe for everybody to life in.”
