Charlotte Henshaw Takes Gold In Tokyo
Charlotte Henshaw from Mansfield finally has the gold she always wanted and deserved.
The 34 year old Mansfield athelete switched sports from swimming to para-canoe back in 2017.
She'd already won a Silver and Bronze in the pool in London and Rio respectively but she now has the full set.
The KL2 Paralympic Champion has pretty much dominated the sport since she made the move out of the water and into a canoe.
The event took place in the early hours of Saturday morning (September 4th) at the Tokyo Sea Forest Waterway.
Chatlotte also set a new Paralympic best time of 50.76 seconds and beat Team GB's Emma Wiggs into Silver.
GB's canoeists have finished the games with 7 medals putting them top of the sport's medal table.
