A Third Of Teachers Quit Within Five Years
Figures show nearly a third of teachers in England who started in 2010 had quit the profession, within five years.
The figures also highlight that more than 7-thousand newly qualified staff had left the job by 2015, and around one in eight left after just a year.
The Government insists that retention rates have been "broadly stable" for the last 20 years, however Sandra Mayfield who is the operations director at Teachers UK in Mansfield, says it’s the government who have contributed to the drop in numbers
“There’s so many different things now that have changed in the Education system over the last few years, the work they (the teachers) have to do in their own time. It’s become a very pressurised place for them to work”
