"A Much Loved Wife And Mother" | Stab Wounds Led To Deaths

Two people died of stab wounds in an incident in Forest Town, Mansfield, a post-mortem examination has revealed.
Sixty-six-year-old Richard Thompson, of Old Mill Lane, Forest Town, and his niece, 48-year-old Lisa Butler, of Mansfield, were treated for their injuries by paramedics who were called to Mr Thompson's home just after 10pm on Tuesday (28 August). They were both pronounced dead a short time later.
The family today described Mrs Butler (pictured) as "a much-loved wife and mother" and appealed to the media to respect their privacy at this difficult time.
Detective Inspector Rich Monk, who is leading the investigation, said: "Following the results of the post-mortem examination we now know they died of stab injuries and that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.
"We will now prepare a file for the Coroner."
