Tuesday Review: Stags Through To FA Trophy Quarter-Final
Mansfield Town came from behind to book their place in the last eight of the FA Trophy at local rivals Alfreton Town.
A lacklustre first half performance from the Stags saw them trail by the break when Matt Wilson scored on 16 minutes from a corner.
But, the second period was far better from Duncan Russell's men and, as on Saturday in the original tie, it was Paul Connor who found the equaliser on the hour mark.
And, Keigan Parker sealed the win thirteen minutes from time whilst Louis Briscoe had an effort cleared off the line in injury time.
The Stags now travel to Evo-Stik Premier side Chasetown on February 26th.
Their Road to Wembley continues but Alfreton's journey has come to an end.
But, the Reds can be proud of their performances, including the replay win at Cambridge and taking Mansfield close in both of their matches. |
