12/05/20 - Mansfield District Council Garden Waste Collections To Restart
The service was temporarily suspended while the council focused on maintaining vital household waste and recycling collections. The collections will begin again on Monday May 18th. To enable crews to empty your brown bin the council are asking you to:
**Make sure your bin is out by 6am on your usual collection day**
**Loosen any compacted waste to stop it getting stuck**
**do not over fill you bin**
**do not contaminate your bin with food, recycling or domestic household items**
30/04/20 - KFC in Forest Town
The KFC in Forest Town is 1 of 100 that will reopen today for deliveries only across the country. The fast food outlet will be open between 12pm and 9pm and food can be ordered through Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Strict rules have been put in place to protect staff and delivery drivers. The drive through will NOT be open.
17/04/20 - Ashfield District Council Make Cemeteries U-Turn
Following advice, Ashfield District Council will re-open its cemeteries from Saturday 18th April from 9am until 4pm.
The Council took the tough decision to close its cemeteries to the public earlier this week. They have successfully made the case on behalf of concerned local residents to reopen them during the day whilst encouraging residents to continue to practice social distancing.
Councillor David Martin, Ashfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Streets, Parks and Town Centres which covers cemeteries said, “We are receiving instruction and guidance from the Government on a daily basis. The advice from the Department of Housing, Communities and Local Government was to close our cemeteries to the public except for funerals and burials. We have sought further guidance and we believe that we can now reopen our cemeteries between 9am and 4pm.
14/04/20 - A Dedicated Patient Liaison Service Has Been Launched By Sherwood Forest Hospitals
A new dedicated patient liaison service is being launched at Sherwood Forest Hospitals to help families keep in touch with their loved ones whilst they are in hospital.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many inpatients across Sherwood Forest Hospitals are not able to have visitors, as visiting across all NHS hospitals in England has been suspended to keep patients, staff and visitors as safe as possible.
The new service will run from Tuesday 14 April and will allow families to phone a dedicated helpline – 01623 676069 daily from 8am – 8pm, which will allow them to get updates on their loved ones as long as they are their next of kin.
The helpline will be coupled with an email address - sfh-tr.pet@nhs.net which families can send photos, pictures and videos to, to keep their loved one smiling throughout their stay in hospital.
10/04/20 - One Way System Introduced At Kings Mill Reservoir
A one way system, aimed at helping residents with social distancing has now been introduced. The one way system was introduced due to residents' concerns about the issue. Ashfield District Council have also introduced signs in the car park reminding people that you should take exercise from their homes and shouldn't drive out to places like the reservoir.
07/04/20 - Sandy Lane Surgery Update
Sandy Lane Surgery in Mansfield would like to let all our patients know that we will be working normal hours 8am - 6.30pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday. We will have GP telephone consultations available on these days as normal. Do not come to surgery though unless you have been invited by a GP or nurse. Please call us with your queries. We are also taking all your prescription requests over the phone at this time.

01/04/20 - Stagecoach Launch exclusive Shuttle Service for NHS staff in Mansfield
The route will provide crucial transport links for key health workers commuting home from Kings Mill Hospital after their shifts
The service will run within Mansfield town centre out to areas including Mansfield Woodhouse, Newlands, Ravensdale and Ladybrook and will operate flexibly, stopping in safe places on the main roads that are close to passengers' homes.
The buses will depart from Kings Mill Hospital's main enterence at 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, 18:15, 19:15, 20:15, 22:15

Mansfield Community Hub has been launched to show the wide range of support available across the district. MORE
25/03/20 - Clap For Our Carers - is now taking place every Thursday at 8. Get involved and show your community and street supports our carers.
Mansfield 103.2 is teaming up with radio stations across the UK to support the clap for our carers initiative.
It all started on Thursday March 26th at 8pm when we were encouraged to head to our doorsteps and gardens and take part in a mass applause to say thank you to our NHS workers and other carers during this unprecedented time.
We want them to know we appreciate all they do and this weekly gesture is to show them we are supporting them as they tackle coronavirus on the front line.

23/03/20 - New Dedicated Patient Helpline Launched by Sherwood Forest Hospitals
Sherwood Forest Hospitals is launching a dedicated patient helpline for people with questions about their treatment and care after changes to appointments in the light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The helpline number for patients and their families with questions about their appointments and operations is 01623 676069. The helpline will open on Monday 23 March and will be operational from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Helpline for cancer patients
In a bid to help our cancer patients who are concerned about Coronavirus, the Trust has also set up a dedicated helpline for our patients with cancer – 01623 622 515 ext: 6499 which will be open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
The dedicated line will help patients who have questions and concerns relating to Coronavirus and cancer treatment or appointments. It is important to note that our Welcome Treatment Centre has been moved from level 4 to Clinic 9, on the lower ground floor of the King’s Treatment Centre at King’s Mill Hospital.
Unless we have called you to advise otherwise, patients are still encouraged to come to their cancer appointments as planned unless they have had symptoms of Coronavirus (a new cough and/or a high temperature). We apologise, but in order to keep our cancer patients safe we are not allowing any visitors to accompany patients on to the clinic or to stay with them during their treatment.
Visitors
Currently no visitors are being allowed in any Sherwood Forest Hospitals sites, however;
One parent may accompany children if the children are patients, one birthing partner may attend the Maternity Department, one carer is permitted in the Emergency Department, but must remain with the patient at all times. Exceptions can be discussed with ward staff if your relative is in end of life care. Anyone who is attending with patients must not have been unwell in the last 72 hours.
To protect yourself from Coronavirus, please ensure you regularly wash your hands and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth and bin tissues if you cough or sneeze. Thorough hand washing will help to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. If you have to come into hospital, please use the hand gel provided.

17/03/20 - Doctors Surgeries
In light of the Covid-19 Pandemic some Mansfield Practices are pro-actively limiting the chance of the virus spreading to their patients within their premises. Rosemary Street Health Centre, Oak Tree Lane Surgery, Roundwood Surgery, Churchside Medical Practice, Acorn Medical Practice and Millview Surgery will be triaging all patient calls. Face to face appointments can only be booked on the day to enable this and online appointment booking will be limited to telephone triage appointments.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals have confirmed they are treating a patient with COVID-19 at King’s Mill Hospital. 16/03/20 - The Echo
Our local talking news magazaine, The Echo, which is normally distributed to blind and partcially sighted people in our area every two weeks, have asked us to annouce that, with much regret, production has been suspended for the time being.
