Respect Dennis Skinner, Prime Minister Told
Mansfield's MP says David Cameron should pay more respect to long-time parliamentarian Dennis Skinner.
Responding to a question from the Bolsover MP in the House of Commons earlier this week, the Prime Minister said that Mr Skinner "has the right, at any time, to take his pension and I advise him to do so."
Labour politicians say the comment aimed at the 80-year-old Beast of Bolsover was "disgusting and shameful."
Sir Alan Meale has said it was poor form from the PM: "He can't tie Dennis Skinner shoelaces.
"This is a man who has given his life to ordinary people and argued for them.
"He's never taken anything and has represented people right on the frontline from the first day that he was able to.
"I think that kind of aside bemeans parliament." |
