Arrests Made On Suspicion Of Drugs Offences
Four people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after officers stopped two cars in Somercotes.
A PC and a Special Constable were patrolling the town in a car during the early hours of Sunday morning when they saw a Vauxhall Tigra turn into the car park at Nottingham Road and pull up alongside a Fiat Punto.
The officers decided to investigate and searched the people in both cars. The 32-year-old Alfreton man, 40-year-old Codnor man and 25-year-old Heanor woman inside the Tigra were searched. The 32-year-old was found in possession of several bags of white powder. A bag of powder was also found in the rear footwell.
A bag of white powder was found on the floor near to the Punto. The three people from the Tigra and the 39-year-old Selston man driving the Punto, were all arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs and possession with the intent to supply.
They have all been released on bail pending further inquiries and while the powder is analysed.
Anyone with information about drugs in their community can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers. |
