ELECTION 2011: Egginton Elected For Third Term
Tony Egginton has been elected as Mansfield Mayor for a third term.
He trailed after the first count, having 10,901 compared to Labour's Steve Yemm 11,732 votes.
But, with no candidate getting over 50% of the votes it went into the second count with the second preference from the other three candidates - David Hamilton (UKIP), Victor Bobo (Conservative) and Anna Ellis (Liberal Democrats) - being redistributed to see who got the majority.
After that, Egginton won with 12,680 votes compared to 12,613 for Yemm, a majority of 67.
