Donate – Don’t Waste
· If you have any unwanted clothes or items of any kind in the back of your wardrobes or cupboards do not throw them away. Extra Care charity shop on Regent Street in Mansfield can take them off your hands. Even if some clothes / materials have holes or the moths have had a nibble or 2 they can still take them from you as anything that cannot be sold on is sent for recycling. So no matter what you have please donate what you can!! A fantastic way of helping both the environment and the elderly and infirm members of our local community who are supported by the work of Extra Care.

Cancer Research Relay For Life – Mansfield
· On Saturday 22nd / Sunday 23rd May there is going to be a very special local charity event taking place. This is a 24 hour relay race in aid of cancer research. The organisers are looking for people to either take part in the race, join the committee to organise and help run the event or simply lend a helping hand. They are also looking for cancer survivors to take part in a very special lap on the day.

The Wizard of Oz
· Performances through until Saturday 13th March at The Nottingham Playhouse on Wellington Circus in Nottingham. The critically acclaimed and award winning Carlton Operatic Society present their latest production in this classic tale. Ticket prices vary.

Charity Cycling
· From Monday 15th through until the weekend of 19th-21st March staff and customers at the Sainsbury’s store on Nottingham Road in Mansfield are invited to help raise some much needed funds for charity. There will be 2 exercise bikes in the store and everyone is invited to come along and help them cycle their target distance of 600+ miles, this is approximately the distance around the country visiting all Premiership Football Clubs. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.
· Whether you can cycle for 1 minute or 10 minutes or even mayce an hour. Every single second of cycling will get them closer to their target. The event is being sponsored and fingers crossed they can reach their set distance to raise the money!! Good luck to them all and anyone who joins in!!
Local Singing Group
· On Today and every Wednesday following a local vocal group meet at the Rufford Arms on Chesterfield Road for a good old sing song. Neighbourhood Voices – as they are known – welcomes everyone along to the session, no auditions will be held, you simply need to just love singing!! The session is also free to take part in!!

Ollerton W.I. Panto Performances
· This year’s annual W.I. Panto is showing at the Jubilee Hall on Wellow Road in Ollerton from Thursday 11th March through until Saturday 13th March at 7.30pm daily.
· A fantastic array of familiar characters and well known songs for everyone to enjoy.
· Tickets are £5 Adults or £4.50 Concessions and can be bought from the Ollerton Town Hall or by calling 01623 860490. So, why not come along and enjoy the show!!
Ashfield Floral Arts Club Demonstration
· On Thursday 11th March at 7pm prompt the Ashfield Floral Arts Club are holding their next demonstration at the Sutton Library Theatre next to The Idlewells Shopping Centre in Sutton in Ashfield. This will be by Tim Kirkham of Nottingham and is entitled ‘Pandora’s Box’.

Monster Rummage Sale
· On Friday 26th March starting at 6pm at the Church Hall on Annesley Cuttings in the village.
· Quality items for sale including clothing, household, toys, books and much more.
· Everyone is welcome. Tea and coffee are also available. Admission is just 10 pence per person.
Indoor Car Boot Sale
· On Saturday 13th March (and every Saturday following) from 7am at the Bentinck Miners Welfare in Kirkby. The car boot is being held to help raise funds for 2 separate charities, one is Headway which helps people with brain injuries and illnesses and the other is the Kirkby Cross Nursery who need some extra funds to help provide for the children they take care of. If you want to sell your goods the charge is £5, which goes directly to the 2 charities, please call Nicola on 01623 750494 to arrange this. Free parking! Refreshment swill be available throughout.

A Charity Country Music Evening
· On Saturday 27th March from 8pm – 11.30pm at The Triple S Snooker Club in Skegby.
· International singer Johnny Marks will be entertaining you throughout the evening, there will also be a raffle, a tombola and Irish bingo. The bar will be open serving all drinks and food will also be available. Tickets are £5 and can be bought by calling 01623 623965.
· All money raised on the evening is going to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

Taize Service by Churches Together (Skegby, Statnon Hill & Teversal)
· On Thursday the 1st April (which is Maundy Thursday) starting at 7.30pm at the Skegby Methodist Church on Mansfield Road in Skegby there will be a Taize service held by candlelight.
