Labour's Alan Meale has been re-elected as Mansfield MP for the sixth time whilst Gloria De Piero sneaked home in Ashfield and Dennis Skinner held Bolsover.

Meale saw his majority cut by half to six thousand ahead of the Conservatives' Tracey Critchlow.

But, it was far closer for De Piero as a recount saw her nudge Liberal Democrat Jason Zadrozny into second by just 192 votes.

Skinner romped home with eleven thousand more votes than Conservate Lee Rowley who was second.

Sherwood was still not declared at 5am as a recount was needed following a discrepancy in the number of ballot papers and the number of votes cast.
