What Happens When You Let A Rabbit Loose In A Supermarket?
What happens when you let a rabbit loose in a supermarket?
One of my favourite things about getting out and about for Barghy's Big Shop Bonus has been being able to see another side to the supermarkets we all pop to as part of our weekly routines. From lounging in staff canteens to being ushered into a 'holding room' (more on that later), it turns out there's much more to these places than meets the eye.
And it's not just me that gets restless when given the chance to cut loose around a supermarket. I left Warren alone for five minutes at Mansfield Woodhouse Morrisons, and by the time I got back, he's squeezed himself into a photo booth. It's fair to say the booth wasn't designed with a 7ft rabbit in mind, but I still think the photos came out okay. Apart from the final one, when Warren dragged me behind the curtain with him. I was just about to fall back out of the booth when the shutter clicked, and it's left me pulling a face that I don't think I need to inflict on you on this blog...
When we're out with Warren, he sometimes needs to take a quick break to recharge his batteries. And in one supermarket, I was told to ask for the 'holding room', or 'where we put the bad lads', as the security guard had it. He wasn't wrong – I think it's the first time I've been in a room where the tables and chairs were nailed to the floor! Safe to say, it's done more than enough to put Warren off any ideas he might have had of embarking on a life of crime...
