West Notts Students Help Encourage Shoppers To Take A Seat
Students from Vision West Nottinghamshire College are celebrating after participating in a competition to encourage shops to allow elderly shoppers to take a seat during the Christmas shopping rush.
Mansfield BID are behind the “Take a seat” campaign and BID Manager Sarah Nelson said “It’s actually a campaign which first started in Nottingham City but we’ve kind of poached it and adapted it a little to suit Mansfield."
"It basically means that the retailers and the banks etc, are actually going to put a seat out for any vulnerable and elderly people, as well as pregnant ladies to basically go and take a seat and have a rest, without the obligation to buy anything”
“It kicks off tomorrow so it’s a great time in the run up to Christmas. We’ve engaged the graphics students at Vision West Notts and we ran a competition for the guys to design the logo and poster. It’s just about making Mansfield a friendly, approachable town, with great customer service”
