Vaughan boost for Reds
Nottingham Forest have confirmed that midfielder David Vaughan has signed a new contract with The Reds.
Vaughan has penned a one-year deal to extend his stay at The City Ground into a fifth season after proving to be an influential figure for Mark Warburton’s men as Forest secured Championship safety.
The Welshman initially signed on loan for The Reds in 2013-14 before signing permanently the following summer and he featured 33 times in the Garibaldi during the 2016-17 season.
He told the club's website: "I am delighted to have signed a new contract here. It is a great club, the fans are great and it feels like it’s the start of something.
"I have always enjoyed a good relationship with the fans. With them getting behind us in the numbers they did in the final few games of last season, I strongly believe we can achieve success. We need their support from start to finish and it’s great to see so many fans already purchasing their reduced season card.
"Since the manager has come in the lads have really bought in to what he is trying to do and we feel we can give it a really good go next season.
"With the new owners coming into the club as well, I felt it was something that I had to be part of as it is a really exciting time to be at Nottingham Forest."
