Mansfield Town boss Steve Evans and winger Ben Whiteman have missed out on January's Manager and Player of the Month Award, respectively, for League Two.
Both were nominated after an unbeaten start to the year in the league, including away wins at Blackpool and Cambridge United.
But, the manager's trophy went to leaders Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson whilst the player's accolade went to Exeter's Ollie Watkins.
Evans congratulated Ferguson on his triumph and is not getting too down on not winning it himself, telling Mansfield 103.2: "When I have won championships and promotions I've not had many Manager of the Month awards.
"I think Manager of the Year is the one everyone wants - that means you are truly successful and probably the champions.
"I have a number of them on the sideboard and I want a few more but you have to ultimately finish top of the pile to win them."
But, Evans feels that Whiteman should have scooped the players prize after a string of impressive performances in the Stags midfield.
He says that the 20-year-old loanee from Sheffield United will go on to have an excellent career but he still has plenty to learn as his development as a player continues.
Evans explained: "Importantly, he comes from a family of winners who are really supportive of him.
"Inside him, though, he has a real desire to succeed in football and he has a real competitive edge that probably sets him aside from a few others."
Preparations are continuing, meanwhile, for Mansfield Town's home game with Hartlepool United on Saturday as the Stags look to stretch their unbeaten run to eight league matches.
Covers have been put on the One Call Stadium pitch (pictured) as freezing temperatures and snow have been predicted throughout Friday night and Saturday morning.
