Stags Add Posh Defender On Loan
Mansfield Town have added Peterborough United defender Hayden White to the squad, the 21 year old joins until the end of the season.
After progressed through the Sheffield Wednesday academy as a youngster White opted to join Bolton Wanderers at the beginning of the 2013-14 season and has enjoyed loan spells with Carlisle United, Bury, Blackpool and Saturday’s opponents Notts County.
Stags’ boss Steve Evans said the right-back is joining the club with a view to a permanent move “Haydn is a young man who I’ve watched many times when he was at Blackpool, at a higher level, I watched him earlier this season at Peterborough where he was absolutely fantastic when going forward in certain games.”
“We think we can add bits to his game and improve him and that’s why we have him here. I have been looking at a number of right-backs and I kept coming back to his name.”
White will link up with his new team mates tomorrow morning, and will allow the likes of Rhys Bennett and Lee Collins to act as cover for loanee Kyle Howkins who will miss Saturday’s local derby through injury.
