Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers will square up against each other in the quarter-finals of the Elite League Play-Offs this weekend.
It means only one of them will take part in the end-of-season Play Off Finals weekend that will take place at Nottingham's National Ice Centre on April 8th/9th.
The Panthers ended the regular season in fourth place whilst the Steelers finished in third, fifteen points ahead of their neighbours.
The pair will clash in a two-legged last eight tie with the first game at the NIC on Saturday 1st April (7pm) and the return match in Sheffield the following evening (5pm).
Seedings for the quarter-finals were determined from one to eight with the Elite League champions will be seeded number one followed by the second seed coming from the winner of the Conference that does not produce the league winner.
The remaining six play-off spots is taken in order from the final Elite League table.
Therefore the quarter final ties are as follows (seeds in brackets):
Cardiff Devils (1) vs Manchester Storm (8)
Braehead Clan (2) vs Dundee Stars (7)
Belfast Giants (3) vs Fife Flyers (6)
Sheffield Steelers (4) vs Nottingham Panthers (5)
