Pair Who Robbed Man In Sutton Locked Up

Two men who robbed a 28-year-old man in Sutton-in-Ashfield have each been sentenced to 33 months in prison.
Shane Chapman, 38, of Langton Court and Richard Coker, 41, of Barnes Crescent, both Sutton-in-Ashfield pleaded guilty to robbery at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (8 October 2018).
Officers were called to Lammas Road at around 7.20pm on Friday 7 September 2018 to reports two men had fled after approaching a man on the street, knocking him to the floor and stealing his wallet and tobacco. They had also kicked him repeatedly as he lay on the ground.
Chapman and Coker were arrested after officers found them inside a vehicle they suspected to have been involved and had tracked down.
Detective Sergeant Matt Scott said: "Chapman and Coker showed no mercy to their victim as they repeatedly kicked him as he lay on the ground and this has been reflected in the sentences they were given yesterday. They are violent individuals and this case shows that we will leave no stone unturned in tracking down these offenders and we won't tolerate these offences in Nottinghamshire."
