Ollerton progress in county cup
Ollerton Town comfortably booked their spot in the Second Round of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup in the only local non-league game to take place on Wednesday night.
They beat visitors Arnold Town 3-1 in a game where their dominance was far greater than the two goal cushion would suggest.
Dave Winter's side spurned a number of chances before they finally broke the deadlock on the hour mark, Gavin King heading home Joshua Bowkett's floated free-kick, and that was quickly followed by a second as Lewis Bingham converted a through-ball from Sean Dickinson.
Ollerton were forced to play the last fifteen minutes a man light after Dickinson suffered a nasty facial injury and that allowed Arnold to dominate for the first time.
But, it was the hosts who grabbed the next goal as Bingham found the top corner for his second on 88 minutes before the Eagles grabbed a consolation in stoppage time through Jawanza Grant.
Ollerton will now hope their good cup form can continue in the league as they host second-placed Yorkshire Amateur in their next Toolstation NCEL Division One match on Saturday, looking for their first win since mid-August.
