Oh Yes She Will!

5th December 2016

Oh Yes She Will!

Friday night gave us all an excuse to glam up and head to the theatre! We went to see “Peter Pan” at the palace Theatre. Now I love a good panto and I always have ever since my parents first took me to see “Snow White” when I was 3 years old. I thought I was really grown up and insisted on sitting with the “big girls”, well, that was until the Wicked Queen burst onto the screen in a puff of green smoke and scared the life out of me. I then made everyone move so I could sit on my Mum’s knee!

Fortunately for everyone there on Friday night, I didn’t get too scared when Captain Hook appeared and didn’t need to sit on Dan’s knee (much to his great relief!!!)

Over the years, I’ve sat through some really good pantos and some really bad ones, but I can honestly say “Peter Pan” was FANTASTIC! The cast were all brilliant, it made me laugh out loud and it made me wince slightly when the Nitwits performed some of their acrobatic tricks….. my heart was in my mouth!!! Who knew a mini trampoline and a mattress could produce such amazing stunts!

The whole thing was perfect from start to finish, even if Adam Moss who plays Smee did spot me in the audience and squirt me with his super soaker water pistol… thanks Adam!

However, this panto did have something, that I’ve never seen before and that was a real life proposal! Towards the end Adam Moss, who plays Smee invited his girlfriend, Karen on stage and asked her to marry him! It was so romantic and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, you can hear just how much the audience loved it, probably not as much as Karen who of course said yes!!! You can actually hear the moment he proposed if you click on the link below.

If you’re going to see “Peter Pan”, you really won’t be disappointed, although I can’t promise there’ll be another proposal!!
