NEWS IN FOCUS | SE02EP14 “The changing face of the workplace”
With the young ones now back at school, this week’s News In Focus with Craig Priest moves up a generation, taking a look at the way the work place has changed in the modern world.
From 6pm this evening, Craig finds out more about the so called “so it all” generation, as modern day workers apparently bite off more than they can chew when it comes to finding a work life balance – Olympian Sally Gunnell believes many feel unable to switch off and ignore that email from the boss.
Elsewhere there’s concern in the Midlands as the TUC reveal results of a survey which shows one in seven workers are skipping lunch entirely in order to make ends meet, with one in four saying that if a unexpected £500 bill came up, they wouldn’t be able to pay it.
Music journalist Sarah Lamptey also reveals that listening to music at work can make the office more productive, with motivation and calmness sighted as the reason many like to have a playlist or the radio on.
Finally this week, we take a look at workers in the 18-35 age bracket, who according to research, no longer chase a big pay check, instead focus on finding a faster career progression and working within a friendly environment.
