New Training For Teachers As Prime Minister Outlines Mental Health Plans
Prime Minister Theresa May has said that teachers in England will be trained in providing 'mental health first aid' for pupils.
Speaking at the Charity Commission about improving mental health provisions earlier today, the prime minister has also ordered a review into the way mental illness is dealt with in classrooms, workplaces and communities, saying the issue should be considered just as important as physical health.
Earlier this year, Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust launched a new Community Paediatric website as part of a wider hospital service to provide support and advice to anyone affected by autism or other conditions
Ester Corker is a Children’s Consultant at the Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust and said she hoped websites such as the one launched by Sherwood Forest Hospitals, will help information become more freely available “We recognise that young people have additional needs, sometimes it can be quite hard for families to find information, and make the journey a bit easier for them, and make families feel more confident in where to find the information that they need”
