Wainwright Primary Academy, part of Diverse Academies Learning Partnership, have this month appointed their new principal, as Mrs Lucy Spacey takes the reigns at the Mansfield based academy.

Mrs Spacey said of her appointment, ‘I am absolutely delighted to become the new principal – it is an honour to be entrusted with the job of leading such a wonderful academy. I have been supporting the academy since June of last year and right from day one I felt an affinity with the children, staff and parents. The whole team have worked incredibly hard to raise standards and ensure the very best for our pupils at Wainwright. The children are a pleasure to be around and I have been so impressed with their impeccable manners, kindness and determination. Their commitment to learning and thirst for challenge is inspiring and I am excited to see the impact of a new balanced and broad curriculum which we are launching in September 2018.

I am looking forward to working with the whole academy and our wider community as we strive for even greater success for all our pupils. By working together we can ensure all children enjoy their time at Wainwright, make excellent progress and leave us with the necessary skills and attitudes to lead successful and fulfilling lives.’

The academy are on a rapid improvement journey since becoming part of Diverse Academies in September 2016, following a rebrokerage from their previous sponsor. With a change in the leadership structure, a new curriculum being launched this year, together with a large number of new pupils applying to start their education journey at Wainwright in September, this is an exciting time for all involved in the academy.

This news follows on from last month’s exciting visit from Mansfield MP Ben Bradley, who kept his promise to the pupils from Wainwright, taking their ‘wish-list’ of things to improve in the town down to Government just last week.
