Millers Back In Big League
Mansfield Hosiery Mills have been promoted as the champions of the Bassetlaw Championship.
They faced stiff compeititon from Welbeck throughout the campaign but sealed their promotion with a weekend to spare.
It was a nine wicket thumping of Anston that did the business for the Millers on the 7th of September. Anuk Fernando socred yet another century in the match whilst he was ably supported by Patrick Delahunty's 63 not out.
The Sri-Lankan (Fernando) was far and away the best batsman in the league during the campaign scoring a massive 1288 runs with a season-long average of over 115!
They will next season be back in the Nottinghamshire Premier League, where they will go up against the likes of champions Kimberley as well as perennial title fighters Cuckney and Cavaliers and Carrington.
