Mascots To Battle It Out In Shootout
Mansfield Town FC is the setting for one of the penalty shootouts of the century this weekend as the club’s stag mascots, Sammy and Sally, take on the mighty JYSK goose – in goal for a good cause.
The giant goose, beloved mascot of the Danish owned Scandi furniture store group, is in town ahead of the launch of Mansfield’s new-look store at Portland Retail Park on Saturday November 3. Early bird customers at the first day of the store’s celebrations will be treated to a FREE Danish breakfast and everyone will get the chance to take advantage of Mansfield-exclusive prices.
All three mascots are planning a little warm up routine before kick -off for the entertainment of the crowd.
Sally and Sammy will each have five shots at goal during the home game’s half time on Saturday 28th October. Every shot netted is worth a 50 pound donation to the Club’s charity The Radford Foundation, so the crowd will be encouraged to cheer for the mascots as they lock horns to raise up to 500 pounds from JYSK.
As geese are not natural footballers, and giant webbed feet aren’t best suited to ball control, hopes are high that it will be a case of Stags 10, JYSK Goose 0 for smiles all round.
Customers visiting the new-look store will find it bright, light, beautifully laid out and filled with Scandi inspirations, great offers and the warmest welcome in Mansfield.
