Man Charged After Sutton Street Fight
An 18-year-old man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon following a fight between two people yesterday evening.
Officers were called to Bainbridge Terrace in Sutton-in-Ashfield at 7.40pm on Thursday following reports of a conflict, and a man was swiftly arrested at the scene.
No one was injured.
Deacon Jones, of Gardiner Terrace, Stanton Hill, was remanded in custody to appear Nottingham Magistrates' Court today.
Notts Police said they are dedicated to combatting knife crime, and taking weapons off the street is a top priority.
The latest report from the Office for National Statistics out last week has shown that the preventive work under taken by the force has seen knife crime fall by 15 per cent over the last year.
