'Local Business – Inspiring The Next Generation' 

Three of the area’s finest business brains join Craig Priest to take a look at the local business scene and how the next generation are being inspired to make their first steps into the business community.

Caroline Cox [Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 Business Club], Berni Dickinson [Evolve Trust] and Malcolm Hall [Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies] are the studio guests as this week’s program takes a more in-depth look at how youngsters are being inspired too make steps into the business world, through schemes such as Junior Enterprise.

Started in 2012 by Malcolm, the Enterprise scheme teams local trades up with schools to challenge year nine pupils to become traders, designing and creating products in school before heading out to Mansfield Market Place to sell the products to the general public.

This week’s show discusses the progression of Junior Enterprise over the past five years and how it impacts and inspires students to be creative outside of the classroom.

Meanwhile in this week’s program, the trio discuss the changes to Mansfield as a business area, how the evolution of trading online has shaped things locally and how the 2020 business clubs’ expansion into Ashfield has boosted business opportunities for all involved.

Mansfield 103.2s Matt Freeman also heads out to Mansfield Market Place to talk to teachers and pupils taking part in this year’s Junior Enterprise Scheme.
