Knife Attack Suspect Arrested
A suspect has been arrested after two people were injured in a knife attack in Mansfield.
Police were called to a property on Welbeck Street shortly before 9pm on Tuesday night (November 2nd).
Two people, a man and a woman in their 40s, suffered cut injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Their injuries are not life-threatening and officers believe the incident, which happened inside a house, involved people known to each other.
A 23-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and a 42-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of affray.
Detective Constable Chris Grundy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are currently working to understand what happened inside this and our investigation is continuing.
“Although incidents of this kind are thankfully rare, we understand the alarm they can cause in the local community. I would, then, like to reassure people that this was a self-contained incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.”
Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident 770 of 2 November 2021.
