Investigation Finds NHS Chiefs Are Trying To Keep Cut Plans Secret
An investigation has found that NHS bosses are trying to keep plans to cut hospital services in England a secret.
Full details of 44 reviews of services around the country are yet to emerge with rumours circulating that A&E Departments at the sites could close as part of the proposed cuts.
Amanda Sullivan is the chief officer for the Mansfield & Ashfield clinical commissioning group “all areas of the country are included in the planning approach and we are included as part of Nottinghamshire. The whole of Nottingham City & Nottinghamshire are working together and what we’ve been doing is thinking about what are the particular health needs in Nottinghamshire, how do they vary across the county and what can we do through working together to improve things.”
Speaking on why NHS bosses looked to keep the reports secret, Amanda added “From a national point of view, there are some concerns that either people become concerned over things which were never going to happen – that are just ideas, or also that they (the NHS Bosses) are over promising things”
