GDPR Emails will calm down insists local solicitor | Legal Eagles Preview
The barrage of GDPR emails flooding peoples’ inboxes over the past week will calm down according to a local solicitor, as the regular changes go under the spotlight in Legal Eagles.
Rob Siderfin from Hopkins’ solicitors joins Tony Delahunty and insists the constant flood of emails will begin to quieten down following last week’s change in legislation, with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) replacing the old Data Protection Action of 1988.
Speaking on Legal Eagles, which you can hear in full below, Rob said “The focus has been re-jigged in favour of the consumer/ customer whose data has been given”
“They’ve got a whole load of rights basically the people who process your data have got a whole load of obligations which they now need to comply with – and that’s why they’re all spamming you with emails asking if you want to continue to communicate with them”
