Farmer signs multi-year contract with Panthers
Nottingham Panthers' preparations for the new Elite Ice Hockey League season have been handed a massive boost with the return of forward Robert Farmer.
The 26-year-old, who was the fans' player of the year and British player of the year, has agreed what the club have called a "multi-year contract".
Farmer, who is also a Great Britain international, helped the Panthers to their historic Continental Cup triumph earlier this year and is hoping for even more success over the next twelve months.
He said: "I'm extremely happy to be back and I'm looking forward to next season. After last year, we are committed to winning and that's what I want to do and I think we're going to win here so I'm excited."
Head coach Corey Neilson added: "Over the last bunch of years, [Farmer]'s grown as a player and can play multiple roles, play tough, score goals, make plays - he really does it all and his defensive game has become well rounded.
"So, he's a very valuable asset for the Panthers."
