Council Tax Frozen For The Next Year In Mansfield

Council Tax Frozen For The Next Year In Mansfield
It has been agreed that Council Tax set by Mansfield District Council for the areas residents will be frozen for the next year. The issue was put before the full council at last night’s monthly meeting and was approved by 19 votes to 16.
Labour members voted against the proposal to freeze Council Tax’s for the second year running and Councillor Nick Bennett of the Mansfield Independent Party said the freeze is a win for the Mansfield people
“It just proves that with a balanced budget that you can freeze council tax and protect services at the same time. I found it utterly disgraceful that the labour party of Mansfield wanted to actually increase the council tax for the vulnerable people of Mansfield, that’s the last thing that the people want at the moment.”
“This (freeze) directly helps the people of Mansfield in their actual day to day living and it proves that with a good team at the Mansfield District Council who’s in charge of it – will look after the finances and say look we don’t need to raise council tax to do this”
“I’m absolutely proud and honoured to represent the Mansfield Independent Forum and actually be part of a team that listens to the Mansfield people.”
