Cider Vinegar 'not a miracle cure' for Stroke

A small dose of cider vinegar can help to cut your risk of suffering a stroke, according to new research conducted by scientists in Birmingham. They say taking a 30ml dose  in water each day can reduce cholesterol, which can have a number of positive effects.

But Louise Knight, from the Stroke Association in our area, says that the most effective way to combat stroke is to ensure you have a generally healthy lifestyle. She said “you need to keep your blood pressure down and eat healthily, and cutting out smoking can help as well. It's all common sense stuff, but if you're doing all the wrong things, then you are going to become more prone to stroke.”

Ms. Knight also agreed with the latest advice from the Royal College of Physicians, who claimed that stroke patients who have a brain scan within an hour of suffering an attack can boost their survival chances by 10%.
