Bulls On The Charge
Mansfield Town played out a goalless draw away at Cambridge in League 2. The Stags remain in the playoff spots but are one of four teams on 44 points. It's getting tight in and around that playoff zone as five points separate 3rd and 11th.
Steve Evans' men had more of the ball and more shots than their opponents but were unable to break them down.
Up next for The Stags is that FA Cup replay with Cardiff tomorrow night. The winner goes on to face Manchester City in the Fourth Round.
Aitor Karanka lost his first game in charge of Nottingham Forest on Saturday as they were beaten 1-0 at home by promotion chasing Aston Villa. The loss leaves Forest 15th in the Championship and with just one win in nine.
Forest face probably their biggest test this season (apart from Arsenal who they dispatched) next up as they travel to runaway leaders Wolves.
Derby County meanwhile continued their excellent form with a comprehensive 3-0 win over struggling Birmingham. Goals from Johnny Russell, Matej Vydra and Andreas Weimann were enough for The Rams to move back into second following Cardiff's 4-0 win over Sunderland earlier in the day.
Elsewhere in League 2 Lincoln drew 2-2 with Notts County, former Stag Matt Green was on the scoresheet once again.
It's all about AFC Mansfield at the moment as they extended their unbeaten run to nine matches with a 4-1 victory away to Bottesford Town. The Bulls are 11 points clear at the top of the NCEL Premier Divsion with 15 games to go.

Matty Plummer got The Bulls off to a great start scoring just three minutes in. James Ghaichem and Phil Buxton got the next two before Plummer added his second and AFC's fourth in the 89th minute.
Jamie Hardwick took charge of his first game of Clipstone on Saturday but wasn't able to change their fortunes as they fell to a 4-0 defeat against Garforth Town and remain without a point this season.
Elsehwere in the Premier Division Rainworth Miners Welfare won 3-1 at Liversedge.
In NCEL Division One Shirebrook Town lost 2-1 to second placed Eccleshill United, Ollerton Town drew 1-1 with Winterton Rangers and FC Bolsover were on the wrong end of an 11-1 scoreline against Campion.
Selston lost out in the batte of 2nd v 3rd in the East Midlands Counties Premier Division as they were beaten 4-1 by Anstey Nomads. The two sides swapped positions in the table and it still leaves Teversal with a four point gap at the top.
A good weekend then for The Bulls and The Rams. The Stags were held and The Cobras defeated once again. That's your roundup of sides with animal based nicknames. Bluebirds up next for Mansfield Town tomorrow night.
